A former Warsaw attorney was arrested Thursday for felony theft.

Larry Dean Beeson, of 2914 Maple Court, Bremen, was arrested by the Warsaw Police Department for the Level 6 felony. It is alleged he  he stole between $750 and $50,000.

According to Brad Keller, public information officer for the WPD, a woman who worked for Beeson for about 10 years came into the police department. She told police she thought the Social Security and federal taxes that were coming out of her checks were not going to appropriate places.

The victim was in the process of retiring when she reportedly discovered the money was not being properly withheld from her pay.

“That money never actually got paid,” to the government, Keller said.

The victim said she confronted Beeson about it and he admitted to her the money was not properly withheld.

According to TheIndianaLawyer.com, Beeson had 50 years experience when he resigned from the Indiana bar in 2018. He is also facing an investigation by the Indiana Supreme Court Disciplinary Commission.

Also, Beeson was publicily repriminated for notorizing a signature of a guardianship consent form without witnessing the signing.

Beeson was booked in Kosciusko County Jail on Thursday on $2,500 bond.
