BLOOMINGTON – Wawasee senior Luke Griner finished fourth in the 800 at the IHSAA State Track and Field meets held Friday and Saturday at the Robert C. Haugh Track & Field Complex, on the Indiana University campus in Bloomington.

Griner completed the distance in 1:52.89. The race was won by Cole Hocker of Indianapolis-Cathedral in 1:51.75.

Warsaw sophomore Tanner Stiver finished 14th in the 800 with a time of 1:56.76.

Senior Isaiah Davis of Manchester, the only Times-Union coverage-area athlete qualified in two events at state, was 11th in the high jump with a leap of 6-6. He also finished 13th in the long jump with a leap of 21-11.

Wawasee senior Isaiah Tipping  finished 10th in the shot put with a throw of 52 feet, 7-1/4 inches.

Nick Bazzoni of Warsaw finished his junior year with a 17th-place finish in the pole vault at 13-6.

In the girls state meet Saturday, Wawasee senior Jada Parzygnot finished tied for 13th in the pole vault at 11 feet, three inches. Warsaw senior Caitlin Kehler was 23rd in the same event with a vault of 10 feet even.

Abigail Powell of Triton concluded her track career with a 23rd place showing in the 300 hurdles with a time of 47.82 seconds.

Wawasee’s 4x800 relay team of sophomore Bailey Mayhew, freshmen courtney Cox and Cameron Kryder and senior McKenzie Smith finished 26th in 10:44.58.

Warsaw freshman Wini Barnett was 27th in the 3200 in 11:51.31. Tiger junior Grayson Kilburn was 28th in the high jump, clearing five feet even.
