WCS Eyes Bond For Improvements

During last week’s meeting, Dr. David Hoffert, superintendent of the school district, said he wanted to do several updates to the school district, such as updating the entrance to the high school, update the STEM labs in the high school, update security cameras for the district and get more guidance staff for the schools, among other things.
“This is just the approval for us to move forward. This is not yet accepting the full financing,” Hoffert said. The approval will allow the school board to advertise for next month’s meeting when it will continue the discussion.
The school board also learned the first day of school for students in the Warsaw School District will be Aug. 13.
Hoffert said parents need to register students if they have not already done so.
Parents can come to the central office or go into the elementary, middle or high school the student will attend and register there, he said.
“Busing routes will be coming out this Friday, and so if parents have not registered yet, it puts them at risk of not being able to have efficient busing or some busing all together for the opening day,” Hoffert said.
He also stated it also affects class sizes.
“It just not affects your family, but it also affects other families in the community, as well,” he said. Hoffert encouraged parents to register as a community interest.
