James and Bonnie  Howard Mettler, of Plant City, Fla., celebrated their 50th anniversary June 28.

They were married June 28, 1969, in Silver Lake with the Rev. Aaron Stanley officiating.

James was in the transportation industry and retired from UPS Logistics in 2015. Bonnie was an accounting manager for University of South Florida Medical Clinic.

The couple have three children: Sean and Kelly Mettler, of Valrico, Fla.; Scott and Tori Mettler, of Valrico, Fla.; and Shane and Toni Mettler, of Denver, Colo. They also have six grandchildren

James and Bonnie celebrated  their anniversary on Anna Maria Island Florida on June 21 with family and friends.

Kathleen N. Anderson-Takacs, 84, of Pierceton, passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2024, at Lutheran Hospital of Fort Wayne. Kathy was born on Aug. 14, 1940, in Prestonsburg, Ky., to Darwin and Jane Gibson. On April 17, 2004, she married Bill Takacs in Gatlinburg, Tenn., who survives.
