7 Receive Masonic Scholarship Awards

PIERCETON – Hunter Haines, Madison Haines, Clarissa Kehler, Caitlin Kehler, Sydney Trump, Taylor Trump and Mason Johnson received Masonic Scholarship Awards from the Scholarship Board of the Grand Lodge of Indiana, Free and Accepted Masons.

The Grand Lodge of Indiana Masonic Scholarship Board distributes earnings from an endowment, making it one of the largest fraternal scholarship funds in the country, according to a news release. In the years of its operation, over $6 million in scholarships have helped over 7,000 Hoosier students realize their educational goals. Children, stepchildren of Master Masons, and Master Masons, who demonstrate academic merit, financial need and community participation, may apply for scholarships if they are attending an Indiana college or university. Each scholarship was one of 411 selected from applicants submitted throughout Indiana.

The awardees were all sponsored by the members of Pierceton Masonic Lodge 377 F. & A.M. Hunter and Madison are sponsored by their father, Tyler Haines of Leesburg; Clarissa and Caitlin’s parents are Mr. & Mrs. Chris Kehler of Warsaw; Sydney and Taylor’s parents are Mr. & Mrs. Eric Trump of Pierceton; Brother Mason Allen Johnson is a Master Mason in Pierceton Lodge whose parents are Mr. & Mrs. Bradly Johnson of Claypool.

Clarissa Kehler is attending Purdue University; Caitlin Kehler will be attending Evansville University; Hunter Haines, Mason Johnson and Taylor Trump will all attend Indiana University; Madison Haines will attend Manchester University and Sydney Trump will be attending Indiana Wesleyan University.
