Kiwanis Club
During the recent meeting of the Kiwanis Club of Warsaw, Indiana District Governor Jud Rouch spoke about “Being a Kiwanian” and the comradery shared among fellow Kiwanians.
While traveling for his job, Rouch would try to visit other Kiwanis Clubs or attend a fundraising event to learn about different communities and meet new people. Rouch told of meeting one of the Jacuzzi brothers and learning the story of how the Jacuzzi hydrotherapy was developed to relieve pain of his young nephew’s rheumatic arthritis. The story illustrates the Kiwanis motto of “…improving the world one child and one community at a time” as the rejuvenating hydro-therapeutic spa improved the lives of people worldwide.
The governor said that Kiwanis is unique among service clubs because Kiwanis develops leadership in youth by sponsoring youth clubs from elementary to college-aged students and encouraging youth to ask, “What can we do to make life better?”
The Kiwanis Club of Warsaw meets every Thursday from 11:45 am to 1 p.m., at the Connections Campus, 1692 W. Lake St., Warsaw. Community members interested in attending a meeting may email [email protected] or contact any member. Upcoming topics include OrthoWorx, AHEPA, Cardinal Services and Honor Flight of Northeast Indiana.
Kiwanis is a global organization of volunteers dedicated to improving the world, one child and one community at a time. Working together, Kiwanis members achieve what one person cannot accomplish alone. Kiwanis provides children opportunities to learn, experience, dream, and succeed, which makes great things happen.
