Nancy Ruth Overstreet of Grace Village Retirement Community in Winona Lake, Ind., known to everyone as simply "Ruth,” went to meet her Savior at 12:50 a.m. on Monday, July 8, 2019, at Grace Village Health Care at the age of 99.

She was born on April 4, 1920, in Spring City, Tenn., to Effie Montgomery and William Amos Clifton.  On Oct. 4, 1940, she was married to Reginald Overstreet. They shared 36 years of marriage together before he passed away on May 4, 1977.

Ruth graduated from high school in Spring City, Tenn., and then attended East Side College of Beauty in Detroit, Mich. She worked for many years as a beautician and enjoyed the friends she made over the years.  She moved to the area in December 2014 and had attended First Baptist Church of Warsaw and Warsaw Community Bible Church.  Ruth will be dearly missed by her family and church family.   

She will be lovingly remembered by her two sons,  Larry (Linda) Overstreet, of Winona Lake, and Steve (Judy) Overstreet, of Ferndale, Mich.; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.  

She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and two sisters.           

Ruth’s life was celebrated with a funeral service at 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 11 at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw, Ind., and officiated by Pastor Larry Overstreet.  

Burial followed with a graveside service at Oakwood Cemetery of Warsaw.  There was time for visitation an hour prior to the service from 10 to 11 a.m.
