Incident At Milford Leads To Six Arrests

An anonymous tip on a man who had six warrants out for his arrest led to the arrests of five other people Tuesday.

Arrested were:

• Ricky Anthony Johnson, 38, of 19 E. North St., Milford, for resisting law enforcement and on warrants for battery, theft and three counts of failure to appear.

• Brandy Christine Howard, 37, Lackey, Ky., for resisting law enforcement and on a warrant for battery by bodily waste.

• Wade Lee Manges, 53, of 19 E. North St., Milford, for assisting a criminal.

• Austin Ray Holdeman-Manges, 18, of 19 E. North St., Milford, for assisting a criminal.

• Stephanie Nicole White, 36, of 19 E. North St., Milford, for assisting a criminal.

• Hannah Lene Street, 25, of 310 N. Henry St., Milford, for assisting a criminal.

The Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office received an anonymous tip Tuesday on a man – Johnson – who had six active warrants, according to a KCSO news release. Johnson was said to be at a residence in Milford Junction.

The KCSO requested assistance from the Warsaw Police Department, Indiana State Police and the Milford Police Department. Sheriff  Kyle P. Dukes made the decision to activate Kosciusko County SWAT, which made entry into the residence and located several people inside.

All the occupants on the first floor were handcuffed and placed in police cars, the release states.

It was determined that two people were hiding in an attic in the residence.

Kosciusko County K-9 Deputy Lou Mediano deployed his K-9 partner, Neville, into the attic, after several verbal commands for the subjects to come out of hiding. Neville found two people in the attic, later identified as Johnson and Howard. They had numerous warrants for their arrests and were taken into custody, and taken to Kosciusko Community Hospital for dog bite wounds, the release states.

“I’m very proud of the efficiency and professionalism of our SWAT team, a brave group of men that put their lives on the line every time they perform their duties,” Dukes said. “We could not have completed our mission without the cooperation among the law enforcement agencies involved.”
