Ruth Una Krause Paige will celebrate her 96th birthday on Tuesday.

Ruth was born Jan. 29, 1923, in Brooklyn, N.Y., and lived in the greater New York area until her late 30s.

Ruth was married to Jim on Valentine’s Day 1943 in Durham, N.C., where Jim was serving in the Army during World War II.

After the war, Ruth worked in her husband’s insurance agency, Paige & Campbell, then at another office as an insurance underwriter. Once Jim graduated from Grace Seminary, they went on to start many churches, including several locally. Ruth served as a pastor’s wife in nearly 20 locations throughout the Midwest and eastern United States. She was widowed after 56 years of marriage.

Ruth is a member of Pleasant View Bible Church in Warsaw. She was Our Lady of Kosciusko in 2007 and has served in many volunteer capacities in the community.

Ruth has three children: retired Col. Kurt (Carol) Paige of Colorado Springs, Colo.; Darlene (retired Col. R. Gary) Tregaskis of Johnson City, Tenn.; and Lynn (Terry) Howie of Winona Lake.

Ruth has five grandchildren, three stepgrandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, five great-stepgrandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren, with a fourth due on Ruth’s birthday. Ruth takes great joy and pride in her family relationships and helping teach each one to live well for the Lord, and to finish well in the same fashion.

Her children will honor her birthday with a private family dinner.

Cards may be sent to Ruth at 337 Grace Village Drive, Apt. 502, Winona Lake, IN 46590.
