Agnes Pruyn Chapman DAR met Tuesday at Richards Restaurant, Warsaw, with nine members and one guest present.
First Vice Regent Evelyn Rake led the DAR opening rituals and read the president general's message. Paulene Holderman gave the national defense report.
Rake reported that the winner of the Good Citizen Contest is Shayleigh Shriver, a senior at Tippecanoe Valley High School.
The guest speaker was Jay Michael, executive director of the Wagon Wheel. He explained how the theater determines which plays will be presented each year. They try to have something that will appeal to everyone at some time each season. Some plays are hard to get as Wagon Wheel can't do a play that is being presented by a touring company in the area. Most actors at the Wagon Wheel for the summer stay with a host family in the area.
The next meeting will be at noon Feb. 26 at Richards Restaurant. Paul Kaiser, Kosciusko County Farm Bureau education and outreach coordinator, will be the guest speaker.
Membership in Daughters of the American Revolution is open to any woman who had an ancestor who fought in or aided the patriot cause during the American Revolution. Contact Kathy Gawthrop at 574-527-2674 with any questions.
Wednesday Night Bridge
The Wednesday Night Bridge group had five tables this week, with the following winners: Andy Overmeyer, Liz Frazzetta, Jean Cowan, Bob Mayer, Tony Frazzetta and Grant Magner.
Janet and John Wagley were hostess and host.
Bridge players are welcome to the Wednesday meetings. If interested call Janet Wagley at 574-268-1330.
Grace Thursday Bridge
Grace Thursday Bridge met this week with Ann Thallemer as hostess.
Winners were Thallemer, Bob Mayer and Carol Freeman.
