Virginia Hubbard Surguy, age 95, of Warsaw, passed away at 10:36 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2019, in her residence.

She was born on Feb. 4, 1923, in Talma, to Roy and Lois Arter Hubbard. She was united in marriage to Rollie Surguy who preceded her in death in 1990.

A lifetime resident of the area, she retired from Lake City Bank. She loved her family life and enjoyed sports, especially the NBA and Alabama football.

She is survived by her daughter, Jill Goldblatt of Birmingham, Ala.; grandchildren: Amber (spouse Scott) Warren of Warsaw; Derek (spouse Laura) Shroyer of Kansas City, Kan.; and Kyle (spouse Ashley) Shroyer of Birmingham; along with six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded by her husband; daughter, Jean Anne Rutledge; sister, Bonnie Shafer; and a brother, Ted Hubbard.

A visitation will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 12, in McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel in Warsaw.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 12, also in McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, with Chaplain Bob Jarboe officiating. Burial will take place in Oakwood Cemetery following the funeral.
