NORTH MANCHESTER – Donald R. Lister, 79, of Claypool, passed on to his heavenly home on Jan. 4, 2019, at Parkview Randallia, Fort Wayne.

He was born Nov. 23, 1939, in Chester, Ill., to Earl and Lillian Winkleman Lister. He grew up in Rolla, Mo., moving later to Indiana, where he met and married Merdena Tucker on Nov. 7, 1964. She survives.

He served in the U.S. Army from 1962-1964. He was employed in Warsaw at Union Tool, retiring from Little Crow Foods in 2003.

He enjoyed watching hummingbirds, old westerns, NASCAR and his beloved cat, Smokie.

He is survived by his wife, Merdena Lister, Claypool; his son, Neil, and wife Michelle Lister of Claypool; and also four brothers and two sisters.

His parents preceded him along with four sisters.

No calling prior to the service.

A service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 12, at McKee Mortuary, 1401 Ind. 114W, North Manchester. Burial will be held at Ulrey Memorial Cemetery following the service. Pastor Jamy Gregory will officiate.
