Rep. Jim Banks Announces Town Hall Meeting In South Whitley

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Jim Banks (IN-03) announced that he will be holding a town hall meeting in South Whitley on Thursday.

The meeting will be at 3:30 p.m. at South Whitley Community Public Library, 201 E. Front St.

Banks will meet with constituents in South Whitley to provide a legislative update and answer questions from local residents.

Miller Scholarship Applications Accepted

Applications are now being accepted by the end of March for the Mary Jane Miller Scholarship.

The Mary Jane Miller Scholarship Trust was established by Mary Jane Miller of Warsaw to provide financial assistance to students pursuing higher education. She cared for the county and community, and her ambition was to provide scholarships to high school seniors and college students residing in Kosciusko County.

Michael Valentine and Lake City Bank are co-trustees of the trust.

Applications are available each new year at the counselor’s office of all Kosciusko County high schools and Lake City Bank Wealth Advisory Group, 202 E. Center St., Warsaw. Applications and additional information can also be found at www.lakecitybank.com/scholarships.

Completed application packets will be collected before April 1 in consideration for the next academic year.

Plack Honored By Magazine

Jamie Plack of Jamie Plack Photography in Warsaw was recently named a Gold Elite Photographer by Senior Year Magazine.

Out of 200 photographers named as the top senior photographers worldwide, only 13 achieved gold elite status.  According to Beverly Williams, editor-in-chief, there were nearly 4,000 images submitted.

“I am so blessed and honored to be named to this list,” Plack said. “To be included among so many talented senior photographers whom I admire is just amazing.”

Plack resides in Warsaw with her husband and 3-year-old twins.
