A Warsaw man was arrested on drug charges after being found passed out at a gas station in a vehicle.

Ryan Daniel Weidenbenner, 37, of 255 E. Pink Magnolia Drive, Warsaw, was booked into the Kosciusko County Jail at 1:46 p.m. Sunday for possession of methamphetamine and theft of motor vehicle parts or accessories. His preliminary bond was set at $5,250.

Court documents filed Tuesday list the charges against him as possession of methamphetamine, a level 6 felony; possession of a syringe, a level 6 felony; and theft, a Class A misdemeanor.

On Sunday, Warsaw Police Department officer Jaime de la Fuente responded to a call about an unconscious person in a vehicle at a gas station on East Winona Avenue. De la Fuente approached the vehicle and saw the driver had his head hanging over and leaning against the door. As the officer attempted to open the door, the man began to fall out of the vehicle. He woke up and identified himself as Weidenbenner.

The license plate on the vehicle was reported stolen.

Officers took Weidenbenner into custody and conducted a search on him. They found three small plastic bags – two containing methamphetamine weighing a combined 1.2 grams, and the third containing half a Xanax.

A syringe was found in the vehicle.

Weidenbenner also has charges of dealing in a narcotic drug, possession of a narcotic drug, possession of methamphetamine and unlawful possession of a syringe pending against him in Kosciusko County Circuit Court.
