Triton Girls Dominate Middle Quarters In Win At Jimtown

ELKHART – Visiting Triton outscored Jimtown 32-16 in the second and third quarters, setting up a 45-30 win in a non-conference girls basketball game Wednesday night.

Sophomore Taren Yates hit a trio of three-pointers on her way to a game-high 21 points, and senior Whytnie Miller hit two shots from beyond the arc and was perfect in four free throw attempts to finish with 14 points. Lexia Hostrawser and Alyxa Viers had five points each to round out the Trojan scoring.

Triton also won the junior varsity contest 26-20 over the Jimmies. Emma Hepler had eight points and Jaelyn Bules seven points in the win.

Next up for the Trojans (7-8) is a Hoosier North Athletic Conference game at Pioneer Saturday.



Tiger Wrestling Wins

BOURBON – Warsaw won seven of nine matches contested, and picked up two wins by forfeit, in rolling to a 60-12 non-conference wrestling win at Triton Wednesday.

Winners for the Tigers were Andrew Ross (126 pounds), Isaiah Owens (132), Brock Hogenson (138), Liam Nolin (145), Brandon Estepp (170), Mario Cortes (182), and Angel Mendez (220). Jacob Linky and Brock Hueber each won by forfeit.

Triton winners were Elijah Cox (152) and Caleb Lemler (285).

 Warsaw will next compete in the Al Smith Invitational at Mishawaka Dec. 27. Triton will be at the McKee Invitational Saturday at Rochester.
