Triton Puts Four Players In Double Figures In Easy Win

BOURBON – Four Triton Trojans scored in double figures in its 74-42 non-conference boys basketball win over visiting Bethany Christian Tuesday night.

Tyler Heckaman had game highs with 19 points and seven rebounds for the host Trojans. Ashton Oviedo had 16 points, with Jared Bules and Tyson Yates adding 10 points each to the Triton attack.

Triton got out to a fast start, and never looked back. The Trojans led 20-5 after the first quarter and 36-11 at halftime. Nine different Trojans scored in the contest.

The Trojans also won the junior varsity contest, 40-36 over the Bruins. Connor Large paced the winners with 13 points.

Triton will take a 3-2 record into its Hoosier North Athletic Conference road game at Winamac Friday night.



Cougars Fall To N. Miami

WINONA LAKE – Silas Gagnon had a career-high 11 points and also pulled down four rebounds for Lakeland Christian Academy in its 47-27 loss to visiting North Miami in a non-conference boys basketball game Tuesday night.

Peter Koller had six points and five rebounds for the host Cougars. Landon Paris had six points and Brayden Lane four to round out the LCA scoring.

North Miami also won the junior varsity game 54-32 over LCA. Josiah Miller had 13 points for the Cougars.

On Saturday, LCA (2-4) will play in the a tournament at Bethany Christian in Goshen, taking on Elkhart Christian at 11:30 a.m. The third place game will be at 2:30 p.m. and the title game at 6 p.m.



Warsaw Girls Win

COLUMBIA CITY – Warsaw earned a 62-55 non-conference win at Columbia City in a girls basketball game Tuesday night.

Statistics were not available as of press time, and will be in Thursday’s Times-Union.

The Lady Tigers (8-5) finish off a stretch of five straight road game Friday night in a Northern Lakes Conference contest at Wawasee.



Warriors Down Bruins

GOSHEN – Emily Haines had 15 points and Becca Smith had a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds for Wawasee in its 45-40 non-conference win at Bethany Christian in girls basketball Tuesday night.

Wawasee (5-6) hosts Warsaw in a Northern Lakes Conference game Saturday.



Lady Squires Fall

NORTH MANCHESTER – Ainsley West had a team-high eight points for Manchester in its 43-27 loss to visiting Fort Wayne Bishop Luers in a non-conference girls basketball game Tuesday night.

Beletu Stout had six points, with Morgan Parrett and Ranissa Shambarger adding four points each for the Lady Squires.

The junior varsity game also went to Luers, 36-24 over Manchester. Olivia Auler had nine points and Chayenne Tennant eight points for Manchester.

The Lady Squires (2-11) travel to Southwood for a Three Rivers Conference game Friday night.



Chargers Down Wildcats

LIGONIER – Morgan Howard had eight points and eight rebounds for Whitko in its 43-20 loss to host West Noble in a non-conference girls basketball game Tuesday night.

Kylie Fugett had six points and three rebounds for the visiting Wildcats. Elizabeth Miller had four points and Kiersten Schipper two points to round out the Whitko scoring.

Now 1-7, Whitko travels to Tippecanoe Valley for a Three Rivers Conference game, and its final game of the decade, Saturday night.
