Lady Vikings Roll To Three Rivers Conference Win At N. Miami

DENVER – Sidney Wagner had 22 points to propel visiting Tippecanoe Valley to a 54-36 Three Rivers Conference girls basketball win at North Miami Friday night.

Kaydence Mellott had 12 points, Emma Craig eight, Hayley Backus six, Jillian Walls four and Corinna Stiles two points for the visiting Lady Vikings.

Valley improved to 3-0 in the conference, 9-2 overall, and is off until Thursday when it hosts Winamac in a non-conference game.



RedHawks Double Up Wawasee In NLC Contest

GOSHEN – Wawasee held Goshen star Brynn Shoup-Hill to six points, but her RedHawks teammates picked up the slack in a 36-18 Northern Lakes Conference girls basketball victory for host Goshen Friday night.

Wawasee was paced by Danielle Jenkins with five points. Becca Smith had four, Tate Cowan three and Abby Steiner, Kennedy White and Emily Haines had two points each for the Warriors.

Goshen’s Tori Eldridge led all scorers with 12 points.

The RedHawks also won the junior varsity contest, 27-18 over the Warriors. Amari Peete and Cowan had five points each for Wawasee.

Now 4-6, and 0-3 in the NLC, Wawasee will play a non-conference game at Bethany Christian at 7 p.m. Tuesday.



Big 4th Quarter Propels Pioneer Past Triton

BOURBON – Visiting Pioneer outscored Triton 20-4 in the fourth quarter, pulling away in a game tied after three quarters, for a 45-29 Hoosier North Athletic Conference boys basketball win Friday night.

Ashton Oviedo had a team-high 10 points for the host Trojans, with Tyler Heckaman adding four points and a team-high eight rebounds. Tyson Yates had eight points, Jared Bules four and Quentin Amsden three points for Triton.

Gage Cripe had a game-high 16 points, and Jacob Brown added 15 for Pioneer.

Triton earned a 50-28 win over the Panthers in the junior varsity game. Cole Mckinney had 19 points, and Lucas Cabrera 10 points for the Trojans.

Now 3-2 overall and 0-1 in the HNAC, Triton hosts Bethany Christian for a non-conference game at 7:30 p.m.  Tuesday.



Cougars Drop Home Game

WINONA LAKE – Cameron Shepherd had seven points, and Landon?paris, Matthew Helton and Peter Koller added six points each for Lakeland Christian Academy in its 69-30 boys basketball loss to Portage Christian Friday night.

Silas Gagnon had two points and three rebounds, and Alex Cook hit a three-point shot for the first varsity points of his career in a Cougar uniform.

Lakeland Christian (2-4) hosts North Miami at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.
