Squires Rally Late For Win At Wawasee’s Hardwood TeePee

SYRACUSE – After trailing by two at the end of the third quarter, Manchester outscored host Wawasee 23-10 over the last eight minutes to take a 61-50 non-conference win at the Hardwood TeePee Friday night.

Weston Hamby led four Squires in double figures with 16 points, and also grabbed a team-high six rebounds. Caleb Stout had 14 points, Max Carter scored 12 points and Thane Creager 11 for Manchester.

Wawasee’s Keaton Dukes had game-highs with 19 points and nine rebounds. Austin Miller had 15 points, and Jack Stover added six for the Warriors.

The Warrior junior varsity took a 48-34 win over Manchester.

Manchester (2-1) is off until Dec. 14 when it travels to Huntington North.

Wawasee (1-2) returns to action at 7:30 p.m. today at West Noble.

CULVER – Seth Martin had a double-double with 22 points and 10 rebounds to lead Lakeland Christian Academy to a 42-39 double overtime victory at Culver community in boys basketball action Friday night.

Cameron Shepherd had eight points and six rebounds, and Brayden Lane added six points, including a key three-pointer in the second extra period.

Silas Gagnon had four points and Landon Paris had a pair of fourth-quarter free throws that rounds out the Cougar scoresheet.

Lakeland Christian (1-2) plays at Hamilton at 7 p.m. today.



Lady Cougars Fall

CULVER – Jessi Calizo had 16 points and sister Tori Calizo added 15 points and eight rebounds for Lakeland Christian Academy in its 56-43 loss at Culver Community in a girls basketball game Friday.

Natalie Norris had five points, Finley Hobbs had four points and Jordan Gross three points to round out the scoring for the Cougars.

LCA (2-7) is right back at it at 4 p.m. today at Hamilton.

Vikings Fall On The Road

KNOX – Tippecanoe Valley carried an eight-point lead into halftime, but a four-point fourth quarter allowed Knox to come back and take a 39-37 victory in non-conference boys basketball Friday night.

Tanner Trippiedi had 10 points for the visiting Vikings, with Rex Kirchenstien had seven points and Paul Leasure, Braden Shepherd and Dawson Perkins had six points each.

The junior varsity game was closer still, with Valley getting a 36-35 win over the home team.

Valley (1-2) travels to Hamlet to take on Oregon-Davis Tuesday.



Panthers Roll Past Trojans

BOURBON – Visiting NorthWood rolled to a 12-point lead at the end of the first quarter and never looked back in its 65-47 non-conference boys basketball win at Triton Friday night.

Tyler Heckaman had team highs with 16 points and six rebounds for the host Trojans. Quentin Amsden had 10 points, Ashton Oviedo had nine, Tyson?Yates added six points and John Gardner five points for Triton.

Trent Edwards led all scorers with 25 for the Panthers.

NorthWood also won the junior varsity game, 46-21 over Triton. Connor Large led the Trojans with eight points.

Triton (1-2) hosts Lakeland Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday night.
