Lady Squires Take 1-0 Win At Wawasee

SYRACUSE – Manchester got a second-half goal from Betelu Stout, off an assist from Emma Garriott, and it was enough to take a 1-0 win at Wawasee in a non-conference girls soccer match Tuesday at Warrior Field.

Manchester will host Oak Hill in a non-conference match at 5 p.m. Thursday at Good Field. Wawasee travels to Goshen to take on Bethany Christian at 5 p.m. Thursday.



Warrior Boys Tennis Sweeps Cougars

ALBION – Getting a pair of wins via forfeit, Wawasee boys tennis lost just three games in three matches contested, easily taking a 5-0 non-conference win over host Central Noble Tuesday.

Zach Leedy won 6-1, 6-1 over Austin Smith at No. 1 sinhgles, and Holden Babb needed the minimum 12 games to win over Austin Frey at No. 2 singles. Grant Brook and Jack Gibbons won 6-0, 6-1 over Aiden Miller and Owen Darland in the only doubles match played.

Wawasee (2-1) plays a non-conference match at West Noble in Ligonier Thursday.



Lady Trojan VB Earns Road Win

BREMEN – Lexi Hostrawser had a pair of blocks and six kills, and Abbey Viers had eight kills to lead Triton to a 25-18, 25-19, 25-20 non-conference volleyball win at Bremen Tuesday.

Jaela Faulkner had six kills and 10 digs, and Emma Hepler added 18 assists in the winning cause.

The Trojans won the junior varsity contest 25-19, 25-12.

Triton will host Argos in The Trench Thursday.



Lady Tigers Split In Conference Matches

WINONA LAKE – Host Warsaw split a pair of Northern Lakes Conference girls golf matches Tuesday at Stonehenge Golf Club. NorthWood picked up two wins with a 9-hole score of 153 to the Lady Tigers’ 180, with Elkhart Memorial posting a 191.

Marie Frazetta led Warsaw with a 44, while Grayson Kilburn and Delaney Byron each carded 45s. Sydney Lancaster was at 46 and Brooklyn Fitzgerald a 57. The team score was the Lady Tigers’ season low for nine holes.

On Thursday the Lady Tigers will travel to Syracuse for NLC matches with Northridge and host Wawasee at Maxwelton Golf Club.



Eagles Edge Wildcat Tennis

COLUMBIA CITY – Whitko head coach Victoria Cornell said her boys tennis team “fought hard, but came up short,” falling 3-2 to host Columbia City in a non-conference match Tuesday.

Winners for the Wildcats were Bryce Tucker at No. 3 singles, and Devon Akers and Jackson Hollenbaugh at No. 1 doubles.

Whitko will host Fort Wayne Wayne today.



Lions Tame Warrior Soccer

BREMEN – Wawasee goalkeeper Evan Dippon was credited with 13 saves, including one on a penalty kick. But the Warrior offense didn’t find the net in its 2-0 loss at Bremen in a non-conference boys soccer game Tuesday.

The Warriors (0-2-1) will host 2A No. 15 West Noble on Thursday.



Apaches Blank Vikings

WABASH – Tippecanoe Valley’s coed soccer team fell 7-0 to Wabash in a Three Rivers Conference match Tuesday.

The Vikings (0-2) travel to Fulton to take on Caston in a non-conference match Thursday.



Valley Tennis Drops Conference Match

WABASH – Tippecanoe Valley dropped a 5-0 decision to host Wabash in a Three Rivers Conference boys tennis match Monday.

The Vikings return to conference play Tuesday at Peru.
