Triton Hangs On For Win Over S.Central

BOURBON – After taking a 26-0 lead, Triton had to survive a furious rally to earn a 26-24 win over visiting South Central (Union Mills) in a non-conference football game Friday night.

South Central missed a go-ahead 40-yard field goal with 3.9 seconds left.

Statistics were not available as of press time.

Triton opens Hoosier North Athletic Conference play Friday at LaVille.



Lady Tigers Soccer Fall To Nationally-Ranked Hamilton Southeastern

LAKEVILLE – Hamilton Southeastern, the 11th-ranked team in the USA Today’s preseason poll, took an 11-1 win over Warsaw in the first game of the Indian Classic girls soccer tournament Friday at Newton Park.

Rylee Burns scored the lone Tiger goal.

Warsaw will play two games today, taking on Lake Central at 11 a.m. and Mishawaka Marian at 4:30 p.m. at Newton Park.



Valley, Whitko Fall On The Road

Three Rivers Conference teams Tippecanoe Valley and Whitko each dropped their season openers Friday in non-conference play. The Vikings lost 24-12 at Culver Academies, and the Wildcats dropped a 26-0 decision at Churubusco.

No statistics were available for either game as of press time.

Valley opens conference play Friday night, hosting Northfield. Whitko also plays its first conference game of the season Friday, travelling to Peru.
