SYRACUSE – Anthony T. “Tony” Gammiere, 90, of Syracuse, passed away at 9:30 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 19, 2019, at his home.

He was born May 19, 1929, in Cleveland, Ohio, to Peter and Alverda Marks Gammiere.

He grew up in Cleveland, graduated in 1947 from Collinwood High School in Cleveland, Ohio, and was a Unites States Air Force veteran. He was married on June 8, 1968, in Cleveland, Ohio, to Patricia M. “Patty” Walker, who survives, and moved to the Syracuse area in 1973. He formerly worked at Weatherhead Corp. in Cleveland and Syracuse and then retired in 1993 from Dana Corp in Syracuse as a manufacturing engineer manager.

He is survived by wife, Patty Gammiere, of Syracuse; two daughters, Antoinette Markouc, of Mentor; and Renee Gammiere, of Benton Harbor, Mich; a son, Peter Gammiere, of Cleveland; 10 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren; and brother, Thomas (Rachel) Gammiere, of Cleveland.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Blanche Vecchio.

Cremation will take place at Cremation Services of Kosciusko County, 4356 N. St. Rd. 15, Warsaw. No public services will be held. Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse, is in charge of arrangements.
