Wednesday evening brought the appearance of the last of the snow birds – Don and Donald – returning from Florida. Both seemed to wish they were still there when we were hit with 30-degree temperatures Wednesday morning.
Eight of us gathered for lots of visiting and catching up on what has been going on. Mickie is still recovering from her surgery but better day by day. She was able to join us for some euchre games.
Members were reminded of First Friday next week in downtown Warsaw.
The group meets at Martin's Super Market around 7 p.m. Wednesday.
Wednesday Night Bridge
The Wednesday Night Bridge group has reported results for the past three Wednesdays.
On April 10 the group had a recent high of six tables. Winners were John Wagley, Judy Stewart, Tom Anderson, Annette Magner, Dorothy Herring, Babs Haines and John Stewart.
Five tables gathered on April 17, when the winners were Tom Anderson, Elaine Tripp, Grant Magner, Mike Herring, Jim Keiffer and Joyce Latta.
There were also five tables this week. Winners were John Wagley, Jim Levandis, Tom Anderson, Peggy Wilson, Sharon Holtz and Mike Herring.
Janet and John Wagley were hostess and host for all meetings, and will continue in that role in May

Four Seasons Ladies Bridge
WINONA LAKE – The Four Seasons Ladies Bridge group gathered Wednesday at Grace Village, with Beth Huffer as hostess.
Winners were Dian Cartwright, Liz Frazzetta, Sharon Tuttle and Connie Ker.
Warsaw American Association Of University Women
The April 15 meeting of Warsaw American Association of University Women met at Miller's.
Marsha Cook, president, called the meeting to order. The secretary's and treasurer's reports were given and approved.
Stephanie Ducheteau made a presentation on hypnosis. Ducheteau, who works with clients in Milford, talked about how hypnosis can help people with anxiety, weight loss and childbirth. The members had many questions about how hypnosis works.
Cindy Norton, treasurer, urged members to take items to Home Sweet Home and to sign up for the Kroger rewards program.
The scholarship committee reported that there are four applicants for the non-traditional grants offered through the local AAUW.
The annual garage sale will be held May 25 in Milford. Members are asked to bring items for the sale and to have the price marked on them. The sale will run from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Snacks were served by Connie Stavropulois, Renatta Erwin, Judi Servies, Babs Coppes and Lora Kipner.
The annual brunch will be held on May 18 at 9 a.m. at Miller's.
