Milford Man Faces Domestic Battery, Disorderly Conduct Charges

A Milford man faces charges of domestic battery and disorderly conduct after allegedly biting and choking a woman and dragging her around by her hair.

Timothy Ray Rogers, 66, of 9367 N. Ind. 15, Milford, was booked into the Kosciusko County Jail at 3:08 p.m. April 1 for domestic battery, a Class A misdemeanor, and disorderly conduct, a Class B misdemeanor.

His bond was originally set at $5,000 surety and $1,000 cash. He has since been released on his own recognizance.

Rogers’ initial hearing is scheduled for 1 p.m. May 20, according to court documents.

On April 1, Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office Sgt. Don McCune was advised by Kosciusko County Central Dispatch that they had received a 911 call from the area of 9367 N. Ind. 15, Milford. Dispatch said the female caller was extremely upset and crying and then the line disconnected.

When McCune arrived to the scene, deputies Derick Krider and Tim Miller were already there. Miller was speaking with a woman – identified as the caller and victim – who had a bite mark on her arm and red marks around her neck.

Krider was speaking with Rogers inside a camping trailer. McCune approached the trailer and Krider told him that Rogers would not exit the trailer. McCune entered the trailer and told Rogers that he needed him to step out and talk with him about what had happened. Rogers was yelling and combative, according to court documents.

McCune told Rogers the fight was over and to tell him what happened. He said he did bite the victim to stop her. Rogers continued to move around and concealed his hands from McCune’s view. McCune again asked him to quit yelling and Rogers did not comply.

McCune told Rogers he was under arrest and McCune reached for Rogers’ right wrist. Rogers pulled away and said that he was not going to be arrested.

Rogers started to move to the rear of the trailer and McCune pushed Rogers off balance onto a bed at the trailer’s rear. Once on his back, Rogers complied with McCune’s request to roll onto his stomach and place his hands behind his back. Rogers was arrested and taken to the jail.

Det. James Marshall told McCune he had taken a statement from the victim and had taken pictures of her injuries. Marshall told McCune that the victim said Rogers had dragged her around by her hair and pulled hair out while doing so.

McCune returned to the trailer and found a large clump of hair and photographed it.
