Warriors Hit Three Homers In NLC Softball Win

SYRACUSE – Wawasee’s Faith Swihart homered, doubled twice, scored four times and drove in three runs, and Bethany Flannery had a grand slam in the 14-9 Warriors softball win over visiting NorthWood in a Northern Lakes Conference slugfest Friday.

Abigayle Smith had a triple among her three hits and drove in three runs. Kiaundra Olson also homered and doubled, driving in a pair of runs. Graceanne Kerlin had a pair of hits in Wawasee’s 15-hit attack.

Wawasee will travel to Middlebury to take on Northridge Monday evening.



Weather Issues Friday, Today

Because of wet grounds and/or windy, cool conditions, several high school sporting events in the Times-Union coverage area were either postponed or cancelled for Friday and today, including:

Manchester – Baseball against visiting Columbia City, and boys golf against visiting Churubusco, postponed but no make up date set.

Tippecanoe Valley and Triton track at North Miami’s Warrior Relays was cancelled.

Triton Softball hosting Culver Academies postponed until 5 p.m. April 29.

Whitko Softball At Central Noble was cancelled.

Today – Warsaw Baseball doubleheader at Kokomo was cancelled.

Warsaw boys track at the Southport Relays in Indiananpolis has been cancelled.

Wawasee hosting baseball, softball and girls tennis tournaments, and all three have been cancelled.

Wawasee, Triton and Manchester at Whitko Invitational: The boys golf tournament has been cancelled.

Manchester, Wawasee and Whitko at Churubusco Relays: the girls track meet has been cancelled.

Tippecanoe Valley softball doubleheader with Adams Central was cancelled.
