The Area X Livestock Judging Contest was held April 11 at the Marshall County Fairgrounds in Argos. Team members had to evaluate and place seven classes of livestock, sheep, cattle, swine and meat goats, then give sets of oral reasons to judges. Tippecanoe Valley’s team was second out of 33 teams and 131 individuals. The second-place FFA team was made up of  Sydney Petersen (third high individual), Mallory Bowers (fifth high individual), Sarah Tucker (seventh high individual) and Shayleigh Shriver (14th high individual) in the FFA division. This team advances to the state contest May 18 at Purdue University. Valley also had another team that placed 11th and another that placed 16th. Teams are coached by Michael Jones and Kraig Bowers.
