NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

NAPPANEE CITY PLAN COMMISSION

    The City of Nappanee Plan Commission will hold a Public Hearing Thursday, May 9, 2019 at 7:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers at the Nappanee City Municipal Center, 300 W. Lincoln St., Nappanee, Indiana. The purpose of this hearing is to hear the following rezoning request from R-1 (Low Density Residential) to B-2 (General Business) filed by Beacon Health System, Inc. 615 N. Michigan St. South Bend, IN 46601 (purchaser) and ISIS Inc. PO Box 232 Nappanee, IN 46550(seller) on the said property located on St. Rd 19 adjacent to the City limits containing .approximately 6 acres more or less.

    Petition: Change the zoning from R-1, Low Density Residential to B-2 General Business with respect to the following described real estate, to wit:

    LEGAL DESCRIPTION OF PROPERTY:  

REAL ESTATE

    A part of the Northeast Quarter of Section 25, Township 35 North, Range 4 East,  Locke Township, Elkhart County, Indiana and more particularly described as  follows:

    Commencing at the Northeast corner of the Northeast Quarter of Section 25, Township 35 North, Range 4 East, Locke Township, Elkhart County, Indiana;  thence South along the East line of the Northeast Quarter of said Section 25, a distance of 725.00 feet to the Point of Beginning of this description; thence continuing South, along said East line, a distance of 600 feet, thence North 88  degrees 51 minutes 45 seconds West, a distance of 435.70 feet; thence North a distance of 600 feet, then South 88 degrees 51 minutes 45 seconds East, a distance of 435.70 feet to the aforementioned Point of Beginning.

    Property Address Reference; Vacant Aland, State Road 19, Nappanee, IN 46550

    A copy of such proposal is on file in the office of the Zoning Administrator of the City of Nappanee, Indiana, City Municipal Building, 300 W. Lincoln St., Nappanee, Indiana. Written objections that are filed with the office of the Zoning Administrator of the City of Nappanee before the hearing will be considered.

    All concerned citizens will be offered the right to speak and voice their comment at the Public Hearing. The Public Hearing may be continued from time to time as may be found necessary.     

    Anyone who requires an auxiliary aid or service for effective communication, or a modification of policies or procedures to participate in a program, service, or activity of the City should contact the Office of the City Clerk-Treasurer, 300 West Lincoln Street, Nappanee, Indiana 46550, (574)773-2112, [email protected] as soon as possible but no later than 48 hours before the scheduled event.
