Squire Softball Wins In Three Rivers Conference Play

NORTH MANCHESTER – Lydia Greer had three hits, scored once and drove in a run, with Emma West and Torina Runkel having two hits each for Manchester in its 5-1 home softball win over Peru in Three Rivers Conference play Wednesday.

Kindra Stetzel tossed a complete game from the pitcher’s circle, allowing one earned run on five hits and three walks while striking out three.

The Squires are scheduled to host Triton in a non-conference game today, weather permitting.



Warriors Down Chargers

ELKHART – Abigayle Smith had a double, four singles, scored three runs and drove in another for Wawasee in its 14-6 Northern Lakes Conference softball win at Elkhart Memorial Wednesday.

Wawasee scored seven runs to blow open a 7-6 game heading into the seventh inning.

The Warriors compiled 17 hits in the game, with Olivia Stuck and Graceanne Kerlin collecting three hits each. Bethany Flannery homered and Stuck doubled, scored twice and collected four RBI’s.

Next up for Wawasee is a home conference game with NorthWood at 5 p.m. Friday.



Wildcats Trip Southwood

SOUTH WHITLEY – Emalee Duggins had a double and two singles, and Harley Bradley had a single and a double for Whitko in its 10-2 Three Rivers Conference softball win over Southwood Wednesday.

Ellie Snep was the winning pitcher.

Whitko will travel to Albion Friday to take on Central Noble in a non-conference contest.



Tigers Down RedHawks


GOSHEN – Courtney Chookie tossed a complete game, striking out  eight Goshen hitters in visiting Warsaw’s 8-5 win in Northern Lakes Conference softball Wednesday.

Junior Isabelle Dittmar had a two-run homer as a part of the Tigers’ eight-hit attack. Hailey Locke, Lindsey Bradley and Hudson Bolinger all had multiple hits for Warsaw.

Warsaw travels to Plymouth for an NLC contest at 5 p.m. Friday.



Triton Wins In HNAC Play

LAKEVILLE – Getting a sweep in doubles matches and winning a pair of singles matchups, Triton rolled to a 4-1 win at LaVille in Hoosier North Athletic Conference play Wednesday.

Maddie Richison and Ivy Powell won at No. 2 and No. 3 singles, respectively, while Emma Hepler and Lexis Hostrawser won at No. 1 doubles and Haley Hooley and Madison Davis were victorious from the No. 2 doubles position. All were in straight sets.

The Trojans are off until Wednesday when they travel to North Judson for a conference match.



Big Inning Dooms Warriors

SYRACUSE –  Host Wawasee held a 4-3 lead after six innings, but Elkhart Memorial broke loose for a seven-run seventh frame to take a 10-4 Northern Lakes Conference baseball win Wednesday night.

Kameron Salazar had two hits, including a double for Wawasee. Carter Woody doubled and scored twice, and Levi Brown had a double as well for the Warriors.

In the junior varsity contest, James Bailey, Charlis Doss and Riley Turner had two hits each for Wawasee in its 12-2 win.

The Warriors return to conference action Friday at NorthWood.



Braves Hold Off Vikings

AKRON – Tippecanoe Valley softball rallied twice, but fell 13-7 to visiting Maconaquah in Three Rivers Conference play Wednesday.

The Vikings collected nine hits to go with the seven runs, led by three hits and three runs from Amy Baca, including two doubles. Ally Betten added two singles and three RBI’s. Brayden Baney drove in three Viking runners on a single and a walk.

Sydney Howard, Kirsten Prater and Kayle Long added one hit each.

Howard took the loss in the circle, allowing six runs while pitching into the fifth inning. Mayde Fear threw three innings of relief, striking out five.

Valley will host Adams Central on Saturday.



Wildcats Fall To Zebras

SOUTH WHITLEY – Whitko dropped a Three Rivers Conference girls tennis match 4-1 to visiting Rochester Wednesday night.

Katherine Ousley was the lone winner for the Wildcats.

The Wildcats are scheduled to play at Tippecanoe Valley tonight.
