1st Source Bank Donates $4,000 To LCA Campus Safety Campaign

The $64,000 stage 1 of LCA’s campus safety campaign was completed earlier this month with the installation of a state-of-the-art security camera system. To fund stage 1, LCA raised $32,000 toward a matching Indiana Department of Homeland Security Grant, according to a news release from LCA.

The $15,000 stage 2 of the campus safety program is to reconstruct the entrance and office area to redirect traffic flow to control visitor access to students. Also included in stage 2 is the installment of safety barrier bollards in front of the entrances to stop someone from possibly driving through the entrance. The donation from the Esther Pfleiderer Trust allows LCA to add one more layer of safety for students.
The Esther Pfleiderer Charitable Trust was established by Esther Pfleiderer to assist charitable organizations located in Kosciusko County in improving the quality of life in the county, according to the release. Born and raised in Warsaw, Pfleiderer taught math for 39 years in the Warsaw school system. She also was very active in the community serving on the boards of the Salvation Army, Warsaw Community Public Library, Kosciusko County Community Foundation, Kosciusko County Historical Society and the ministries of the First Presbyterian Church. In 1982, she was recognized as Warsaw’s Woman of the Year.
Grant applications are available from 1st Source Bank Personal Asset Management Group offices at 325 S. Lake St., Warsaw. The next deadline for applications for grants is Sept. 30. For more information, contact 1st Source Bank at 574-268-1207.
