Last Monday Euchre Club

The Last Monday Euchre Club met at the Warsaw Senior Center on Monday.

High winner was Marcele Mathys, most lones was Mary Grubbs and low was Nancy Church. 

The next meeting will be at 12:30 p.m. Oct. 29 at the Warsaw Senior Center



Frances Slocum Chapter INDAR

WABASH — Wabash County’s Frances Slocum Chapter, Indiana Daughters of the American Revolution, will meet at 7 p.m. Oct. 9 at the Grandstaff Hentgen Activity Room, 1241 Manchester Ave., Wabash. 

The program will be on the Madonna of the Trail and Levi and Catharine Coffin Museum. Prospective members and guests are welcome to attend.

DAR membership is open to any woman 18 and older who can prove lineal descent from a patriot of the American Revolution. Those having questions about their family history lineage information may visit www.dar.org or contact Linda Thompson at 260-563-4661 or Barbara Amiss at 260-982-4376.



Four Seasons Ladies Bridge

WINONA LAKE — The Four Seasons Ladies Bridge group met Wednesday at Grace Village. Maxine Harris was hostess.

Winners were Judy Stewart, Barb Calhan, Virginia Horn and Nondas ?Joyner.



Wednesday Night Bridge

The Wednesday Night Bridge group had six tables at its meeting this week.

Winners were John Wagley, Joyce Metz, Kathy Clary, Bob Mayer, Liz Frazzetta, Dorothy Herring and Mary Thompson. 

Janet and John Wagley are hostess and host for October.

Singles Meeting Friends

Six people gathered Wednesday night at the upstairs deli in Martin's Super Market.

Donald shared a map and some pictures of where he stays the winter months in Florida. His mother, Donna, and a brother have homes in the same park. Small world: A relative of Geri stays at the same park. 

The group also viewed pictures from his trip to The Ark Encounter in Kentucky in 2016.  He said it was definitely a must-see place.

Tom sent word that he made it safely to Rapid City, S.D.  He is looking forward to the buffalo roundup they do this time of year.

North Webster Community Center SPEC

NORTH WEBSTER — Bridge results this week at North Webster Community Center Senior Prime Enrichment Center:

On Thursday, Mike Wyrick was first and Barb Kieper was second.

No games were played Tuesday.



Grace Thursday Bridge

Joyce Latta was hostess when Grace Thursday Bridge met this week.

Winners were Marilyn Veolz, Rosalee Shear and Elaine Tripp.



Agnes Pruyn Chapman DAR

Agnes Pruyn Chapman DAR met at Tuesday at Richards Restaurant with seven members and one prospective member present.  

Regent Kathy Gawthrop reminded the group of the Fall Forum and Workshop in October in Indianapolis.

Following lunch, Gawthrop led the Pledge to the Flag, The Americans Creed and The Preamble to the Constitution. She then read the president general's message and national defense report.

Paulene Holderman reported that new member Kelly Susaraba was a big help with the program books this year and has expressed interest in helping in the future, which will save on costs.

Gawthrop read a thank-you note from Clayton Hicks from Wawasee High School, who was the winner of the DAR essay contest last year. The group also received a thank-you note from Wawasee High School for the DAR scholarships.

Gawthrop gave an informative program on "How to Navigate the DAR Website."

The group remembered some members who are having health problems.

The next meeting will be at noon Oct. 23 at Richards Restaurant. DAR member Kathy Hamman, who is also a local Realtor, will give a program on basic real estate.

Membership in Daughters of the American Revolution is open to any woman who had an ancestor who fought in or aided the patriot cause during the American Revolution. Contact Gawthrop at 574-527-2674 with any questions.
