Series On Senior Living, Aging At Parkview
A conversational education series on senior living and aging solutions will begin Tuesday at the Center for Healthy Living at the Parkview YMCA, Warsaw.
The series “Let’s Start a Conversation … Senior Living Solutions as You Age” will feature panels of local senior care partners.
Tuesday’s presentation, “First Steps,” is designed to help families learn how to talk about topics that come up as people age. The goal is to help people avoid being overwhelmed and uninformed if and when unexpected life events occur.
Karen Kauffman, Home Helpers, and Michelle Livinghouse, Adult Protective Services, will speak on the topic and take questions.
Upcoming sessions are:
Oct. 16 — “Legal and Financial” with attorney Dan Leininger.
Oct. 30 — “Living Arrangements” with several local senior living experts.
Nov. 13 — “Rehab After Crisis” with occupational therapist, rehab administrator and an insurance billing manager.
Nov. 27 – “Coping with Losses” with social workers and grief counselors.
All events will begin at 10:30 a.m. at 1305 Mariners Drive, Warsaw. Call 844-835-0003 for reservations.
Banks Staff In Warsaw And Columbia City
Congressman Jim Banks staff will visit Warsaw and Columbia City on Oct. 4, to meet with local residents and assist with anyone experiencing problems with a federal agency.
Staff representatives for the 3rd District Congressman will be available from 9:30 to noon at Warsaw City Hall, 102 S. Buffalo St.
Staff will then be in Columbia City from 1:30 to 4 p.m. at Peabody Public Library, 1160 E. Ind. 205.
Winona Lake Town Council Schedules Executive Session
WINONA LAKE – The town council of Winona Lake will have an executive session at 6 p.m. today at the town hall, 1310 Park Ave.
The subject of the executive session is for the purpose of discussing an individual over whom that governing body has jurisdiction and may receive information concerning the individual as set forth in by the town council as the governing body of the town as provided by Indiana code and to discuss job performance evaluation.
A final action cannot be taken in an executive session. Any final action must be at a meeting open to the public.
