ATWOOD — Otterbein United Methodist Church is doing something for pets and pet owners this fall.
Oct. 4 is the traditional feast day of Francis of Assisi, the patron saint of animals. Otterbein UMC will celebrate a blessing of the pets at 7 p.m. Oct. 4. The service serves as a reminder that God created and cares about pets as well as the rest of creation.
In addition people are asked to share their blessings with the Animal Welfare League of Kosciusko County, which works to help unwanted and abused animals of Kosciusko County. Those who attend the blessing of the pets may bring a supply donation for the shelter to give during the offering. Donations are not necessary for a pet to be blessed.
Requested items include paper towels/toilet paper/facial tissues, germicidal wet wipes, hand sanitizer, bleach, liquid dish soap, liquid laundry soap, dog/cat wet/dry food, dog/cat treats/toys, and dog/cat leashes/collars. Reams of copy paper and ball point pens, as well as financial donations for the Animal Welfare League, are also appreciated.
The Oct. 4 service will take place behind the church. The service is casual. Pet owners are asked to make sure animals are under control and to make provisions for “accidents.”

Pet Blessing Ceremony Oct. 7 At St. Anne’s
St. Anne’s Episcopal Church’s regular worship service on Oct. 7 will include a special pet blessing ceremony.
The worship service will take place on the lawn in the back of the church. Those who attend are asked to bring a lawn chair; pets must be on a leash or caged for the entire service.
Worship begins at 10 a.m. Dress appropriately for the weather.
The church will be collecting the following items for the Animal Welfare League of Kosciusko County: paper towels, cotton blankets, bleach, detergent, collars, pet treats, washable pet toys and towels.
There also will also be an opportunity to adopt a pet from the AWL.
Bluegrass Country Gospel Concert Saturday
A buegrass country gospel concert is planned for 6 p.m. Saturday at Warsaw Family Worship Center.
The concert will feature Charlie Whitaker and Sons from Ohio. Admission is free; a freewill offering will be collected.

Healing House Starting Spanish Service
Healing House Church of God is starting a Spanish service.

Community?Prophecy Conference Oct. 7-16
SILVER LAKE — Silver Lake Wesleyan Church will host a community prophecy conference Oct. 7-16.
The speaker for the conference is the Rev. Duane C. Seitz, pastor of the Wesleyan Church, who will lecture with PowerPoint and provide study notes for each evening. Lectures will address such questions as: What are the signs of Christ’s return and the end of the age? Is the Antichrist in the world today? What is the significance of the European Union? What is the significance of Israel becoming a nation in 1948? What is the mark of the beast? Who will be included in the rapture? How can I avoid going through the tribulation period? Is it coming soon?
Topics will cover a wide range of end-time prophecy including Daniel’s 70 Weeks, the panorama of world history from Daniel 7, Ezekiel’s vision of the dry bones, the revealing of Antichrist, the tribulation period, rapture, second coming, Gog-Magog invasion, the Battle of Armageddon, the Judgment Seat of Christ, Great White Throne Judgment and the Millennium.
The services begin at 6 p.m. Sundays and 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday. There is no admission charge, but a free-will offering will be collected.
Silver Lake Wesleyan Church is one block north of the stoplight on Ind. 15, and one-quarter block west. Parking is on the north side of the church. Entrance is on the east, upper level with handicap ramp.

Winona Lake Grace Brethren Marks 75 Years
WINONA LAKE — Winona Lake Grace Brethren Church will celebrate its 75th anniversary Sunday in the Manahan Orthopaedic Capital Center (MOCC) on Wooster Road in Winona Lake.
The public is invited to participate.
A homecoming celebration will start the day at 10 a.m., and will feature former pastors Ed Lewis, Ron Manahan, Mark Penfold and John Teevan, as well as current pastors Bruce Barlow (lead pastor) and Kip Cone. Child care will be available for infants through preschool age at the MOCC starting at 9:30 a.m. Lunch will follow at the MOCC and is open to all who attend the service.
Tours of the WLGBC campus at 1200 Kings Highway will take place at 1 p.m. Those interested should meet at the main entrance off the parking lot. At 1:30 p.m., “A History of WLGBC” will be featured in the church’s worship center. This will include a slide presentation by local historian Terry White and two panel discussions.
The final event of the day will be an ice cream social in the church courtyard at 2:30 p.m.
Food Drive Saturday At West Market Owen’s
Healing House Church of God is planning a food drive Saturday.
The food drive will be from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Owen’s on West Market Street, Warsaw.
Rusty Nail Crossing At Revival Meetings
Evangelist Dan McLemore and the Rusty Nail Crossing bluegrass gospel band will hold revival meetings Sunday through Wednesday at First Baptist Church of Pierceton. Services will be 10:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. Sunday and at 7 p.m. Monday through Wednesday.

No Name Quartet Coming To Country Church
BOURBON — No Name Quartet of the Warsaw area will perform at The Country Church at 6:30 p.m. Sunday.

McCall At Next Men Following Christ
WINONA LAKE — Dr. Larry McCall will be the guest speaker at the next meeting of Men Following Christ.
The breakfast meeting is from 8 to 10 a.m. Saturday at Alpha Dining Hall at Grace College.
After graduating from Grace College and Grace Theological Seminary, McCall was further shaped through a two- year pastoral internship in Pennsylvania, then returned to Winona Lake, in 1981 to pastor Christ’s Covenant Church. Along the way, he completed a Doctor of Ministry degree from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in Chicago. He continues to serve on the pastoral team of Christ’s Covenant Church, and he speaks at conferences and ministers with Walking Like Jesus Ministries.
Walking Like Jesus Ministries was formed in 2015. This ministry is dedicated to serving Christians through McCall’s writing, teaching and preaching ministry, which focuses on helping people see in clear, practical ways how to pursue Christ and reflect Him in daily life.
Men Following Christ is a Christ-centered meeting for men of all ages. The meeting is open to anyone looking to grow in their walk with Jesus Christ, as well as be inspired by the speakers and the testimonies shared by other men.
The group meets from 8 to 10 a.m. the last Saturday of the month. Breakfast is served at no cost to those who attend. The public is welcome.
