She was born in Silver Lake to Florence and Clarence Grubb. In 1954, she married Charles “Chuck” Surland. He died in 1986.
Rita retired from Aerojet in 1990.
A celebration of life was planned for today at Lake View Community Club House, Citrus Heights, Calif.
