Local Edward Jones People Raise Awareness, Funds For Alzheimer’s

By Staff Report-

Local Edward Jones personnel, including members of the Warsaw Walkers, had a booth at Warsaw’s First Friday to raise awareness about Alzheimer’s disease, and to encourage people to give and to participate in a fundraising walk.

The walk will be Oct. 6 at Parkview Field, Fort Wayne.

“The Warsaw Walkers team has raised $3,000, part of which has come from matching funds from our community,” said Justin Elliott, local Warsaw financial adviser with Edward Jones. “These donations, along with many others, help make a difference in Warsaw and surrounding communities.

“In addition to raising funds, local Edward Jones branches support Educational Workshops each year and continue to foster support groups meeting regularly for diagnosed individuals and their caregivers.”

Elliott said the booth had information to help increase awareness of the disease, and hoped to encourage people to donate to the Alzhermer’s Association and/or participate in the Oct. 6 walk.

As a strategic partner with the Alzheimer's Association, Edward Jones plans to raise over $4 million with 30,000 associates participating in walks nationwide this fall.

“For nearly a century now, Edward Jones has been in the business of building relationships and family wealth, while Alzheimer's disease has sought to destroy them both. That's why we've 'stepped up our pace' by aligning with the Alzheimer's Association, the foremost leader in the fight to end Alzheimer's,” said John Beuerlein, principal at Client Strategies Group.

“That’s the rallying cry, the reason, for Edward Jones’ strategic alliance with the Alzheimer’s Association. With nearly 16,000 U.S. branches, local presence is a cornerstone of Edward Jones.

“Embracing the Alzheimer’s cause goes beyond community involvement. Aligning with the Alzheimer's Association is a proactive way to work against a long term threat while protecting the health and wealth of its clients.”
