“Giving children the chance to give back.”

That’s the goal of the Angel Share program, in its second year at Warsaw Church of God.

Angel Share allows children ages 3 to 17 to select a Christmas gift for a parent, grandparent, teacher or other adult in their lives for $5 per gift. Children also make a Christmas card for their gift recipients, and a family photo will be taken.

Though the Nov. 17 event focuses on kids, there’s plenty for adults to do while they wait.

“Parents are pampered with games, food, door prizes and more while waiting for their children,” said Yvonne Southall, who is organizing the event.

A 33-inch flat-screen TV is among the prizes that will be given away. Every family that attends will receive a raffle ticket, and one extra ticket will be given to any family that registers by Wednesday, Southall said.

Also during the day, a chiropractor from Masterson Chiropractic will give free massages, Miracle Ear will offer free hearing checks and Lutheran EMS will bring an interactive robot. PNC Bank is sponsoring games and prizes, and other activities will feature the Warsaw Street Department and Fur Bible Birds.

Big Brothers Big Sisters is collaborating with the church for this year’s event. The goal is for 100 families to participate, Southall said.

To register for Angel Share, call Southall at 419-905-2847 or email [email protected].

Volunteers are also needed. Contact Southall if you are able to help.

Proceeds from the day will benefit Grace College commuter students and Haiti Hungry No More, a ministry of the church.
