A Claypool man received a sentence of 100 months incarceration and one year of supervised release after pleading guilty to possessing a firearm by a convicted felon.

Seth Allen, 29, of Claypool, was sentenced by U.S. District Court Judge Jon E. DeGuilio after pleading guilty to the charge, U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Indiana Thomas L. Kirsch II announced Thursday in a news release.

The release does not indicate when Allen pleaded guilty or when the sentence was handed down.

On Jan. 3, Allen sold an Intratec model Tec-DC9, 9 mm Luger semi-automatic pistol to another person. He previously was convicted of a felony and has had multiple criminal convictions since turning 18, the release states.

The case was investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, with assistance from the Warsaw Police Department, and prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Jesse Barrett.
