He was born May 6, 1934, in Warsaw, to Thomas C. “Chester” and Ila Kourt Irwin.
He grew up in Atwood, graduated from Atwood High School in 1952 and was a United States Army veteran.
He was married on March 21, 2014, in Chicago, Ill., to William Yu, who survives.
He formerly worked at Clausing OCE in Warsaw, Nappanee Wood Products in Nappanee and retired from Commodore Homes in Goshen. He lived most of his life in Atwood and moved to the Silver Lake area six years ago.
He formerly attended Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Warsaw.
He is survived by his spouse, William Yu, Silver Lake.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A private burial will take place in Stoney Cemetery.
Cremation Services of Kosciusko County, Warsaw, is in charge of arrangements.
