Notice to Bidders

    Sealed bids will be received by the City of Warsaw, Indiana, Board of Public Works and Safety, 102 South Buffalo Street, Warsaw, Indiana 46580 until 10:30 a.m. (local time) on December 7, 2018,  and then will be publicly opened and read aloud in the Warsaw City Hall Council Chambers, located at the same address.

    Any bid received after the submittal deadline will be returned unopened. The description of the project is Collection, Transportation, and Disposal of Recyclable Material for the City of Warsaw.  Sealed proposals are to be delivered to the City of Warsaw Clerk Treasurer, for the City's Board of Public Works & Safety, located at 102 South Buffalo Street,Warsaw,Indiana 46580.

    The description of the work is:

    CURBSIDE RECYCING

    Contractor shall submit a proposal including costs and administrative procedures for conducting a voluntary curbside recycling program for  3,200 residents that accepts the current materials under the City's curbside recycling program.

    Bid shall be for single sort recyclable material with the City of Warsaw providing a 96 gal recyclable cart for recyclable material defined as:

    Newspapers

    Magazines

    Slick Ad Paper

    Fiberboard / Cardboard

    Catalogs

    Telephone Books

    Aluminum Cans

    Metal Cans

    Plastic #1

    Plastic #2

    Clear,Brown and Amber Glass

    Envelopes containing the bids must be sealed and marked "SEALED BIDS  I RECYCLING" and must clearly show the name and address of the bidder.

    Bids may be withdrawn up to 24 hours prior to bid opening.

    Hard copies of the Contract Documents can be obtained at the Warsaw Public Works Department located at 794 West Center Street, Warsaw,Indiana 46580. Copies of the Contract Documents will be available in electronic (PDF) format upon request to [email protected]. In the email request,state the project name and company information with primary contact (address, phone, fax, email).

    A Bid Bond in the amount of 10% of the full twenty-four (24) month contract or certified check in amount of 10% of the full twenty-four  (24) month contract must accompany the bid in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders. Said Bond will be held as a guarantee that in the event the bid is accepted and a Contract awarded to the bidder, the Contract will be duly executed, and its performance properly secured by the required Performance Bond or Letter of Credit.

    The successful bidder will be required to execute the Contract beginning on January 1, 2019 following the approval of the City of Warsaw Board of Public Works. In case the bidder neglects to so execute the Contract, the bond accompanying the bid shall be forfeited to the City, not as a penalty, but as liquidated damages. The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids or alternates, to waive irregularities and/or informalities in any bid, and to make an award in any manner consistent with law,deemed in the best interest of the City.

    Upon award of the contract, a performance bond in the amount of the contract price must be submitted by the successful bidder.
