Guardians Quartet At Riverview Sunday

TIPPECANOE – The Guardians of Chillicothe, Ohio, will be at Riverview Community Church at 6 p.m. Sunday.

Legendary bass singer Pat Barker joined the southern gospel quartet in March. The group also includes longtime members Neil Uhrig, John Darin Rowsey and Dean Hickman.

The Guardians have recorded 17 CDs. Their hit songs include their current release, “Present in the Presence of the King.” They have sung at a variety of venues across the country, including the National Quartet Convention.

Their collective mission is to share the gospel of Jesus Christ and sing songs that minister to people’s hearts and touch their lives.

There is no charge for admission to the concert. A love offering will be collected.

Everyone is welcome.

The church is at 3780 Ind. 110, Tippecanoe.



Acoustic Gospel Jam At Worship Center

An acoustic gospel jam is planned at 6 p.m. Saturday at Warsaw Family Worship Center.

Everyone is invited to an evening of fellowship and worship. The church is at 1250 Husky Trail next to Martin’s Super Market.



Combined Thanksgiving Service Tuesday

PIERCETON – Pierceton United Methodist Church will host the combined Thanksgiving service with several other Pierceton churches on Tuesday.  

“We gather together to ask the Lord’s blessing” is the first line of a hymn typically sung at Thanksgiving. This combined service is an effort to gather families to give thanks for all that we have in the United States.

The service will begin at 6:30 p.m. Parking is in the rear of the church and is handicapped-accessible.  



Thanksgiving Program Sunday In Claypool

CLAYPOOL – Claypool United Methodist Church will have a Thanksgiving program at 10:20 a.m. Sunday.

Pastor Mike will bring the message. Everyone is welcome.



Thanksgiving Service Tonight At Otterbein

ATWOOD – Otterbein United Methodist Church will have a Thanksgiving service at 6:30 p.m. today.

The service will be a time of praising God and thanking Him for His blessings. Those who attend will sing songs of gratitude, and the church choir will sing.  

Following a time for sharing joys and concerns, there will be a time of prayer: for each other, the community, the nation and the world, and that those who follow Jesus will share the love he has for everyone, in thankfulness for what He has done for them.    

Everyone is welcome to take part in this community service to prepare for Thanksgiving Day.

Baked Steak Dinner Friday In N. Manchester

NORTH MANCHESTER – A baked steak dinner is planned from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Friday at North Manchester United Methodist Church.

Cost for the dinner is $8 for adults and  $5 for children ages  7-12. Carry-out will be available.

The church is at 306 E. Second St., North Manchester.

What I haven’t heard mentioned are the eleven towers scattered across it - eleven towers that you have to till, plant, and harvest around. Heaven forbid you hit one.
