MISHAWAKA – James E. Sheldon Sr., 74, Bremen, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2018, in Goshen Hospital.

James was born April 19, 1944, in South Bend, to the late Delbert and Marilyn Hoffman Sheldon, as one of seven children.

James proudly served his country in the United States Air Force and was honorably discharged in 1967. He worked many years for Bendix Corp. before his retirement.

James loved to travel, model railroading and woodworking. His greatest joy was being in the company of his loving family.

James is survived by his loving children: James E. (Rhonda) Sheldon Jr., Mentone; Faith (Dean) Cook, Delong; Shannon O'Brien Sheldon, Norcross, GA.; and Stephen (Sherry) Sheldon, Mexico. He was the proud grandfather of 13 and a great-grandfather of one. James is also survived by a daughter-in-law, Robbyn Sheldon.

He was preceded in death by a son, Donald Sheldon.

Friends may visit with the family from 2 to 4 p.m. today, Nov. 10, in Bubb Funeral Chapel, 3910 N. Main St., Mishawaka. A service celebrating James' life will be follow at 4 p.m. in the funeral chapel.
