The Winona Literary Club met Oct. 31 with 26 members present.
The club was delightfully entertained by two Warsaw Community High School choral groups. The singing was followed by Marsha South giving reviews on two Max Lucado books, "Grace for the Moment" and "Unshakable Hope."
The business meeting conducted by President Paula Ibach contained minutes and reports of committees followed by refreshments, which were served by Joyce Griffith and Frances Duke.
The next meeting will be Wednesday.
Altrusa Club
At Altrusa Club’s Nov. 1 meeting, Alyx Bates, director of operations for Heartline Pregnancy Center, shared information about the programs provided by their organization at the K21 Health Pavilion near Kosciusko Community Hospital.
For 39 years the organization has served the community and now boasts seven employees. In addition to determining viable pregnancies and setting due dates, the group provides parenting classes, a fathers program, and help for those who have lost infants. It also provides BABE’s Boutique, run by volunteers. To learn more about this organization, go to www.heartlinepregnancycenter.org.
Two visitors, Paula Shalley and Cathy Cox, joined members at their last meeting.
The club just completed its largest service project, Bingo for Beaman Home, which grossed $16,000. All proceeds benefited Beaman Home’s programs and services. Work has just begun on the club’s annual spring bazaar scheduled for March 2.
The club’s next meeting will be at 5:30 p.m. Thursday at Richards Restaurant. Anyone interested in participating in service projects in the Kosciusko County area is encouraged to attend.
