FORT WAYNE — Norma A. Schwierking Jellison, 82, Fort Wayne, passed away at home Sunday, May 27, 2018, after a year-long battle with ALS.

Born in Warsaw, Norma graduated from St. Joseph Hospital School of Nursing and worked as a registered nurse with John E. Krueger, M.D., and John Nill, M.D., for 30 years, retiring in 1999. She was a volunteer at Parkview North Cancer Center and the St. Vincent de Paul Society.

Surviving are her husband, Donald G. Jellison, Fort Wayne; son, Christopher S. (Tara) Jellison, Fort Wayne; daughter, Amy K. (Matthew) Barnes, Fort Wayne; sister, Marilyn L. Hammersley, Fort Wayne; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Norma was preceded in death by parents Henry J. and Leona A. (Rody) Schwierking, a great-grandchild, and brother-in-law John Hammersley.

Mass of Christian Burial is at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 31, at Our Lady of Good Hope Catholic Church, with calling an hour prior.

Calling at D.O. McComb & Sons Maplewood Park Funeral Home, 4017 Maplecrest Road, is from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.  today, May 30, with a Rosary service at 5:45 p.m. Entombment will be in Catholic Cemetery, Fort Wayne.
