BID NOTICE

    The Turkey Creek Fire Territory is accepting bids for renovations to Fire Stations #1 & #2 until June 29, 2018 at 2:00 p.m.  All bids shall be delivered or mailed to Turkey Creek Township, 310 N Huntington St., Syracuse, IN 46567, in a sealed envelope marked “Fire Station Bids” on the outside of the envelope.

    Plan and specification documents for this project may be reviewed in the Office of the Turkey Creek Township Trustee, 310 N. Huntington St., Syracuse, IN 46567 during business hours, or PDF copies can be obtained from the architect at [email protected] (a $10.00 non-refundable fee will apply to receive same on disk).  

    All bids shall remain valid until August 13, 2018, and each proposal must be accompanied by the deposit of a certified check for $18,000.00, payable to the Turkey Creek Township, or a bond with sufficient securities to be approved by the Turkey Creek Township, conditioned that if the proposal is accepted, the successful bidder will enter into a contract for the work and will execute, within 30 days from the date of acceptance of the proposal, a suitable security bond in the sum of the amount of the contract, conditioned for the faithful and prompt performance and completion of the work specified in the contract.  All deposits, except that of a successful bidder, will be returned.   

    Upon acceptance of a bid, if the successful bidder fails to enter into a contract pursuant to the requirements of Turkey Creek Township, or fails to give the further security prescribed in this notice within the time limit for it, the check deposited and the moneys standing to the credit of the same shall be forfeited to Turkey Creek Township as liquidated damages, or the payment of the bond shall be enforced for the benefit of Turkey Creek Township.

    All conditions listed with the plan and specification documents and discussed at the pre-bid meeting shall be considered accepted when a bidder elects to bid.  The Turkey Creek Fire Territory shall conduct a pre bid meeting on June 8, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. in the Town Hall of Syracuse, Indiana, 310 N Huntington Street.  Anyone with an issue regarding the plan and specification documents is welcome to attend and ask questions of the project architect.  Announcements made at such pre-bid meeting shall control over any other plan and specification documents.  On-site views of the proposed renovations sites may be arranged through Turkey Creek Fire Territory Chief, Mickey Scott.

    Each bidder shall, upon submitting their bid, submit a financial statement, a statement of experience, a proposed plan(s) for performing the public work pursuant to the specifications and list any equipment that the bidder has available for the performance of the public work.  Each statement shall be submitted on forms prescribed by the State Board of Accounts.  Bids may be specified for one or more alternatives on the bid form as noted on the plan and specification document.  

    The Turkey Creek Fire Territory shall award the contract for the public work to the lowest responsible and responsive bidder, or, may reject all bids submitted.  Each bidder shall submit an Affidavit with their bid specifying that the bidder has not entered into a combination or agreement relative to the price to be bid by a person, to prevent a person from bidding, or to induce a person to refrain from bidding and that the bidders bid is made without reference to any other bid.  The entity or entities awarded the contractor(s) herein shall be responsible for obtaining all permits, certificates, and approvals required by law.  This project shall comply with all statutes and laws of the State of Indiana, including without reservation those set forth in I.C. 36-1-12 et seq.

    The Turkey Creek Fire Territory shall conduct a meeting on June 29, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at the Syracuse Town Hall, 310 N Huntington St., Syracuse, IN 46567, to publicly open and read the bids.
