Triton Earns Second-Place Finish In 18-Team Match

The Triton boys golf team hosted the Triton Invitational at Stonehenge Golf Club on Saturday.

Zionsville won the team event with a 303, the Trojans finished second with a 324 and NorthWood ended in third with a score of 325 in the 18-team match.

Wawasee finished in 10th and Warsaw ended in 11th place.

Triton was led by Chase Butler, who shot a 77 to finish tied for sixth place.

For the Warriors, Zach Leedy led the team with an 86. Dillon Drake followed with an 87 and Tyler Boschtich had an 89. Jared Krugman had a 97 and Evan Dippon carded a 99. Victor Toyagua shot a 95.

Triton, Warsaw and Wawasee all compete in the Warsaw Sectional on Friday at Rozella Ford Golf Club.



Kruschwitz Medals; Squires Finish Fourth

WABASH – The Manchester boys golf team finished in fourth place out of nine teams on Saturday at the Wabash Invitational.

Logansport won the team competition with a 307 at Honeywell Golf Club. The Squires shot a 343 as a team.

Manchester’s Harley Kruschwitz was the medalist after winning in a playoff. Krushwitz shot a birdie on the playoff hole to win.

Nathan Self tallied an 86 for the Squires. Konrad Borgmann had an 88, Klayton Hendrix shot a 95 and Dylan Brubaker carded a 97.

Manchester competes in the Warsaw Sectional on Friday at Rozella Ford Golf Club.



Valley Ends Season In Sectional Semifinal


LIGONIER – The Tippecanoe Valley baseball team ended its season on Saturday in a 6-1 sectional semifinal round loss to NorthWood.

The Vikings took an 1-0 lead in the top of the second inning, but the Panthers clawed back and scored two runs in the bottom of the frame to take the lead.

NorthWood scored three runs in the fifth and one in the sixth to put the game out of reach for Valley.

The Panthers gave up three hits in the game and tallied nine themselves. The Vikings caused NorthWood to commit three errors.

Valley’s Adam Myers took the loss on the mound. He pitched four innings and allowed seven hits, five runs, walked zero and struck out six.

At the plate, Ethan Yates led the team with two hits and one RBI. Wes Melanson ripped a double for the team’s only extra-base hit during the game.

NorthWood defeated Lakeland 10-0 on Monday to win the Class 3A Lakeland Sectional.
