PLYMOUTH – Plymouth High School hosted the boys track and field sectional on Thursday.
Plymouth won the team event, Culver Academies finished second and Whitko came in third. Manchester finished fifth, Tippecanoe Valley was seventh and Triton ended in 11th.
Whitko’s Alex Wilson won the 200-meter dash with a time of 22.60 seconds. He finished second in the 100-meter dash and ended third in the long jump.
Shad Ebbinghouse had a second-place finish in the 110 and 300-meter hurdles. R.J. Patrick tied for second in the pole vault with a height of 12 feet, 6 inches.
The 4x100 team of Zack Freel, Dominick Moseley, Ebbinghouse and Wilson advance to the regional after coming in second with a time of 44.84 seconds.
The Manchester 4x400 relay team of Tyler Andritsch, Isaiah Davis, ben Reichenbach and Sam Reichenbach finished in second. The quartet ran a time of 3:35.47.
Davis finished second in the high jump and long jump events.
Valley’s Dakota Parker finished first in the 400-meter race. Jameson Baker had a first-place throw in the discus with a distance of 143 feet, 1 inch. Baker finished second in the shot put after a throw of 48 feet, 10-1/2 inches.
The Peru Sectional feeds into the Warsaw Regional. Regional competition will be on Thursday at 6 p.m.
Manchester Beats Valley, Whitko At Round Barn
ROCHESTER – Manchester, Tippecanoe Valley and Whitko competed at the Round Barn Golf Course on Thursday.
The Squires won with a team score of 185. The Wildcats finished second with a 191 and Valley tallied a 229.
Manchester’s Harley Kruschwitz was the match medalist with a 41. Klayton Hendrix fired a 45 and Nathan Self shot a 48. Konrad Borgman and Logan Parrett both shot a 51.
Whitko’s Kaleb Busz was second at the event with a 42. Jonathan Strayer carded a 49. Cade Bechtold and Kylar Bryant both had a 50. Dale Reiff rounded out the golfers with a 51.
Valley’s Cade Brouyette shot a 44 to lead the team. Carter Kistler shot a 54. Bryce Madeford (64), Mason Purvis (67) and Corey Fincher (74) rounded out the golfers for the Vikings.
Manchester competes in the Warsaw Bob Turner Classic on Monday. On Thursday, Valley hosts Triton and Bremen at the Round Barn and Whitko hosts West Noble.
Squires Roll Past Wabash
PERU – The Manchester Lady Squire tennis team won 5-0 over Wabash in the semifinal round of the Peru Sectional.
In the No. 1 singles match, Kelsey Eichenauer won in three sets. She won the first set 6-4, but fell 6-4 in the second. In the deciding set, she cruised to an easy victory at 6-1.
Manchester’s Halle Briner won 6-0, 6-1 at No. 2 singles. The No. 1 doubles pair of Kendra Auler and Eva Bazzoni won 6-4, 6-4 at No. 2 doubles.
Lydia Little at No. 3 singles and Lauren Metzger and Rebekah Pyle won both their matches 6-1, 6-0.
The Lady Squires play Southwood for the Peru Sectional title tonight at 5:15 p.m. Manchester is aiming for its third consecutive sectional title.

Adams Scores Early, Routs Wawasee Softball
SOUTH BEND – The South Bend Adams softball team scored all its nine runs in the first inning and won 9-2 over Wawasee on Thursday.
Both teams tallied nine hits in the contest.
The Lady Warriors pushed runs across in the fourth and six innings.
Graceanne Kerlin and Amanda Jenkins both had two hits. Casey Drake, Faith Swihart, Bethany Flannery, Danielle Jenkins and Aubrey Kuhn all had a hit.
Olivia Stuck got the loss for Wawasee in one inning of work. She allowed six hits, nine runs, five unearned runs, walked three and struck out one.
Flannery pitched five innings in relief. She gave up three hits, zero runs, walked one and struck out two.
The Lady Warriors visit 2A No. 1 Bremen tonight at 5 p.m.

Hopkins Smashes Two Home Runs; Whitko Wins
WABASH – In its last Three Rivers Conference game of the season, the Whitko softball team won 12-2 over Southwood on Thursday.
The Lady Wildcats had 10 hits, compared to Southwood’s three.
Whitko’s Reannon Hopkins crushed a two-run home run. Madison Smith had two doubles. Ellie Snep had a single and a double.
Anna Ousley had two singles. Misha Brandenburg, Makayla Berg, Lexi Hall and Emmy Duggins all had a hit.
Snep got the win and struck out five in five innings of work.
The Lady Wildcats host Norwell on Saturday for a doubleheader. It will be Youth Day at the doubleheader. If kids wear their park ball uniforms, they will get into the game for free.

Offense Ignites Lady Tigers Over Memorial
ELKHART – In a softball game that had 21 hits, Warsaw got the 12-6 win at Elkhart Memorial Thursday evening.
Warsaw started its scoring early and often. The team scored in six of the seven innings and scored two or more in an inning on four occasions.
Courtney Chookie, Isabelle Dittmar, Katie Anderson and Lindsey Bradley all had multiple hits for the Lady Tigers.
Chookie took the win for Warsaw. She allowed six runs, nine hits, zero walks and struck out three batters.
The Lady Tigers visit Tippecanoe Valley tonight.

Mishawaka Scores Twice In Seventh, Beats Warsaw
MISHAWAKA – Mishawaka scored twice in the seventh inning to defeat Warsaw 5-4 in a nonconference baseball game on Thursday.
The Tigers scored twice in the second and third innings to take a 4-0 lead. In the bottom of the third, the Cavemen tallied three runs to trim the deficit.
Matt Shoemaker led the team with two hits.
Warsaw hosts Fort Wayne Snider on Saturday in the first game in the Tiger Tournament.

The Wildcats host Churubusco tonight.
