Manchester Netters Finish With Perfect TRC Record
WABASH – The Manchester girls tennis team finished 8-0 in Three Rivers Conference action this year after a 5-0 win over Southwood on Monday.
At No. 1 singles, Manchester’s Kelsey Eichenauer won the first set 7-6 after winning the tiebreaker 8-6. In the second set, she won 6-1 to claim the match victory.
The No. 1 doubles pair of Kendra Auler and Anna Osborne had to play three sets and go through a tiebreaker to win the match. They won 7-6 (9-7) 3-6, 6-2.
Halle Briner (No. 2) and Lydia Little (No. 3) both won their respective matches. The No. 2 doubles duo of Rebekah Pyle and Lauren Metzger won in straight sets.
The Lady Squires return to action on Wednesday as they host Peru in the opening round of sectional play.

WABASH – The Tippecanoe Valley girls tennis team lost 3-2 at Northfield on Monday in a Three Rivers Conference match.
Valley’s Makayla Sandbakken won at No. 2 singles. She fell 6-0 in the first set, but came back to win the second set 7-6 after going 10-6 in a super tiebreaker.
Tiphanie Hodge and Makenna Bradley won 6-4, 6-3 at No. 1 doubles for the Lady Vikings.
Valley plays the host Lady Tigers on Thursday in the Warsaw Sectional.

Goshen’s Early Start Helps Defeat Wawasee
GOSHEN – A quick start by Goshen proved to be the difference on Monday in Northern Lakes Conference baseball action. The RedHawks won 7-5 over Wawasee.
Goshen scored three runs in the first and four runs in the second to remain near the top in the conference standings.
The Warriors scored four times in the first five innings and then added one in the top of the seventh, but the comeback was stopped.
Wawasee’s Kameron Salazar led the team with two RBIs on two hits. He ripped a double and a single. Jairus Boyer had a home run and an RBI.
Parker Young and Carter Woody both had two singles.
Wawasee hosts Fairfield tonight for a 5 p.m. game.

AKRON – The Tippecanoe Valley baseball team won 7-0 over North Miami on Monday.
The Vikings doubled their Three Rivers Conference win total with the victory.
Valley’s Adam Myers pitched six innings, allowed four hits, zero runs, two walks and struck out 11 in his stellar performance.
Ethan Yates had three hits at the dish for the Vikings. He had a double, two singles and two RBIs. Tucker Shull and Payton Mills both had two hits. Mills added two RBIs to his stat line.

Late Rally Lifts Knox Over Triton In HNAC Play
KNOX – The Triton baseball team couldn’t hold on to an early lead and fell 11-7 at Knox on Monday.
The Trojans had a 5-4 lead after three innings of play. In the fifth and sixth innings, Triton allowed Knox to score seven runs in that span and take the lead.
The Trojans had four errors in the contest, compared to only one by Knox.
Ryan Kaufman had three hits for Triton. Lucas Newman, Keegan Mosier and Ty Ferry all had two hits for the Trojans. Ferry led the team with three RBIs and Mosier had two.
Triton and Knox have rematch tonight in Bourbon. First pitch is slated for 5:30 p.m.

Squires Score In Seventh To Beat Apaches
WABASH – Grant Strobel led the Manchester baseball team to a 3-2 win at Wabash on Monday.
Strobel pitched a complete game, and allowed five hits, two runs and struck out four batters in his performance.
The Squires scored two early runs in the top of the first. Wabash countered and tallied two of its own to tie the game.
It took both teams six innings to finally score again, as Manchester pushed a run across in the top of the seventh.
In the top of the seventh, Mason Meyer singled with one out and Kaleb Fluke singled as well. Hayes Sturtsman singled and drove in Meyer to take the lead.
Fluke led the team with three hits and Meyer had two hits and scored twice. Sturtsman finished with two RBIs.
Manchester travels to Rochester on Wednesday.

In the Northern Lakes Conference showdown, Warsaw had a quick 1-0 lead after the first inning.
In the second inning, Concord tallied three runs and added four more runs over the third and fourth innings to pull away.
Warsaw’s Kennedy Tennant took the loss. She pitched seven innings, allowed five hits, two runs and struck out four.
Isabelle Dittmar had two hits for the Lady Tigers.

Wawasee Golf Loses To NorthWood, Plymouth
PLYMOUTH – The Wawasee boys golf team lost a three-way match to NorthWood and Plymouth on Monday.
The Panthers won by carding a 160 and Plymouth came in second with a 169. The Warriors shot a 181.
Wawasee’s Zach Leedy led the team with a 39. He was three strokes behind the medalist from Plymouth.
Dillon Drake shot a 41 and Jared Krugman was behind him with a 49. Evan Dippon (52) and Luke Weisser (54) rounded out the golfers for the Warriors.
The Wawasee junior varsity team fired a 197.
The Warriors are back on the links on Thursday as they host Warsaw and Goshen at South Shore Golf Club.
