Warsaw Man Arrested In Alleged Strangling Incident

May 14, 2018 at 4:51 p.m.

A Warsaw man was arrested Friday for allegedly strangling his girlfriend in April.

Michael Lynn Losher III, 36, of 44 EMS B51 Lane, Warsaw, was arrested and booked into the Kosciusko County Jail at 4:32 p.m. Friday for strangulation. His preliminary bond was set at $5,250.

Court documents filed Wednesday list the charges against Losher as strangulation, a level 6 felony; domestic battery, a Class A misdemeanor; and possession of marijuana, a Class B misdemeanor, enhanced to Class A misdemeanor because he was previously convicted of possession of marijuana in Elkhart County on Aug. 24, 2005.

On April 16, Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department deputy Christopher Francis responded to a domestic battery at Losher’s address. Francis spoke with Losher’s girlfriend, who said Losher had left on foot.

The girlfriend said they had got into an argument and Losher grabbed her by the hair, causing her pain, and moved her around the room. He then choked her, restricting her airflow, and hit her in the back of the shoulder area, causing pain, according to court documents.

Losher threw items at the victim, which Francis saw strewn across the floor. He also saw a redness and bruising on the neck and left arm of the victim.

She escorted officers into the residence and identified a cabinet as a storage area for Losher’s marijuana. Inside the cabinet, officers found several containers of plant material identified as marijuana.

Officers found Losher, smelled marijuana on him and saw a cigarette beside him identified as marijuana. Losher admitted to police that he pulled the victim’s hair.
