He was born Dec. 27, 1924, to the late Isadore and Gitel Mages in Harrisburg.
Mervin was the retired manager of the spectroscopy laboratory at Zimmer. He was an avid coin and stamp collector who loved jazz and dancing.
Mervin is survived by his niece, Betsy F. Woolf; her husband, Clifford Wolf; and their children, Ethan and Taryn.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his twin sister, Pauline Mages; and his older sister, Evelyn M. Woolf, wife of Joseph H. Woolf of Harrisburg.
A service to celebrate Mervin’s life will be held in Indiana. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
The funeral will take place at 1 p.m. Sunday, May 13, at Kesher Israel Cemetery Chapel in Harrisburg.
The arrangements for the family are under the care of Hetrick-Bitner Funeral Home.
