Manchester High Names Top Students

Remington Trick is this year’s valedictorian, and Ben Reichenbach is salutatorian.
Trick has maintained Highest Honor Roll and Academic Excellence status from 2010-2018, according to a news release from the school. He has been a member of the National Honor Society for two years. His academic awards include IFCA Academic All-State, Indianapolis Colts Academic All-State Team, Eli Lilly Endowment Scholarship Finalist, IATCCC First Team Academic All-State, Indiana Rising Star and was an AP Scholar.
Trick was recognized as the Outstanding Spanish Student in 2016 and 2017, the Outstanding 11th-Grade Mathematics Student, as well as the Outstanding 11th-Grade Language Arts Student. He currently serves as the student body president.
In community groups and organizations, he is active at Saint Robert-Bellarmine Catholic Church. He has provided babysitting for church events and has taught religious education. He has volunteered for the Manchester Main Street Holiday Gala for three years, and is employed at the North Manchester Dairy Queen. The last two years, he helped can-vas the town for non-perishable food collection.
His extracurricular activities and athletic involvement includes varsity track for four years, where he was Academic All-Conference in 2017 and served as team captain for two years. He also won the Squire Award in track last spring. Trick played varsity football for four years and was Academic All-Conference in 2017.
Trick has been active in Key Club as a treasurer in 2016-17 and served as president this past year 2017-18. He was also in Spanish Club where he served as president in 2017-18. Remington was certified by the State of Indiana as fluent in Spanish in 2018.
After high school graduation, Trick plans to attend Trine University to major in biomedical engineering. He will then pursue a career in the orthopedic industry to change lives by designing innovative medical devices and technology, the release states.
He is the son of Kyle and Stacey Trick.
Reichenbach has maintained Highest Honor Roll and Academic Excellence status all through high school and has been a member of the National Honor Society for the past two years. He participated in Boy Scouts of America and recently achieved the honor of Eagle Scout. He is the DAR Good Citizen of Wabash County and is an Indiana Rising Star. He is the senior class president.
Athletically, Reichenbach was a member of the varsity cross country team for four years where he earned the Squire Award in 2014 and 2017, and Academic All-State in 2017. He was a member of the soccer team in 2015 and track and field for four years where he earned Academic All-Conference and Rotary Mental Attitude Award in 2017.
Reichenbach has been active in musical theater and drama, choir and has advanced to the state level in Science Olympiad for four years. He participated in band for three years and marching band for one. He is active in the Manchester Church of the Brethren Youth Group.
Reichenbach plans to attend Goshen College and major in biology on a pre-med track.
He is the son of Eric and Jennifer Reichenbach.
