SYRACUSE – Contracts were approved Tuesday at Wawasee School Board’s meeting for the remodeling of Milford School.

It also was announced Milford School Principal Cindy Kaiser will retire effective at the end of the school year.

Kaiser has been the principal for 28 years, and served as the assistant principal for two years before taking the top spot. She also taught for nine years, making a total of 39 years of service to the school and community.

“I’ve got no real plans for retirement,” she said. “It’s just time.”

Improvements to Milford School will include new carpeting on both the elementary and middle school sides of the building, as well as painting walls, replacing ceiling tiles and some desks and remodeling the entrance to the middle school. New bleachers have already been installed in the middle school gym and the floor has been resurfaced.
