'Real Beauty Real Girls’ Begins May 13 At Victory Christian

NORTH MANCHESTER — Victory Christian Fellowship Church is planning a series titled “Real Beauty Real Girls.”

RBRG is designed to help girls learn to recognize culture’s narrow beauty ideal and exchange it for one that celebrates their God-given uniqueness. Girls will learn about effective ways to deal with the wounds of negative words, how to challenge popular beauty myths, taking care of their bodies and breaking free from the trap of body hate.

The series is open to all girls ages 10 to 15. There is no charge to attend; all materials will be provided.

Sessions will be May 13 and 27, June 10 and 24, July 8 and 22, and Aug. 12 and 26. Sessions will begin at 10 a.m. at Victory Christian Fellowship, 112 W. Main St.

Nelson’s Chicken Fundraiser Will Benefit Trinity United Methodist

Trinity United Methodist Church is planning a Nelson’s Golden Glo chicken fundraiser Saturday.

Chicken will be available from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the parking lot of JB Furniture on Center Street, Warsaw. Halves are $6.50. Chicken bites and Pit-Tatoes will also be available.  

The church has a worship service at 9 a.m. Sunday. All are welcome.



Jonah Club Fish Fry Planned May 18 In North Manchester

NORTH MANCHESTER — North Manchester Congregational Church will host its annual Jonah Club Fish Fry on May 18.     

The meal will include fish, slaw, applesauce, bread and drink. Advanced tickets are $8 for adults ($9 at the door) and $5 for children 6-10 (presale and at the door). Children under 5 are free.   

Indoor serving lines for all-you-can-eat dining will be open from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Carryout lines will be open from 4 to 6:30 p.m. in the west parking lot of the church.  

Funds raised through the fish fry and other donations will go to provide shoes for children and the elderly in Uganda through Sole Hope, whose goal is to combat diseases that enter through the feet.

Tickets can be purchased by visiting the church, calling the church office at 260-982-2882 or emailing [email protected].  

The church is on the corner of Fourth and Walnut streets, North Manchester.



Motorcyclists’ Annual Run For The Son Is Saturday In Atwood

ATWOOD — The Christian Motorcyclists Association’s annual Run for the Son escorted ride is planned for 10 a.m. Saturday.

Registration is from 8 to 9:45 a.m. at the Atwood Community Building. A meal and door prizes will follow the ride.

The event will be held rain or shine.



Baked Steak Dinner Friday At Claypool United Methodist

CLAYPOOL — Claypool United Methodist Church will serve a baked steak dinner from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday.

Cost for the meal is $8 for adults, $4 for youth ages 7-12 and free for those 6 and  younger. Carry-out will be available.

Those who bring a canned good will receive 50 cents off of their meal.

All proceeds will go to the church and its mission projects.
